On the 27th June 2008, a life sized bronze sculpture of John F Kennedy was unveiled on the Quayside of New Ross, Co Wexford.
Jean Kennedy Smith, his sister & former US Ambassador to Ireland, unveiled the statue and spoke fondly of their visit to New Ross in 1963 and the legacy of his presidency.
The Statue marks the 45th anniversary of the former US Presidents three day visit to his ancestral home in New Ross, Co Wexford, in June 1963.
Also in attendance were Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan TD, Councillor Ray Lawlor, An Cathaoirleach New Ross Town Council, sculptor Ann Meldon Hugh & Television Personality, Gay Byrne.
